STEMCraft: STEM Fair Participating Organizations

Organizations participating in our STEM Fair

  • Academy of Natural Sciences will be helping kids build their own board games that other kids can then play with.
  • ASAP/After School Activities Partnerships will be running Chess and Scrabble games.
  • Asthma Rangers will be informing parents on how to deal with your child’s asthma.
  • Author Tracey Baptiste, will be signing free copies of her NY Times Best Seller: “Minecraft: The Crash”
  • Clean Air Council will demonstrate how solar power, powers your home.
  • Chutes and Ladders will be up and running at the STEM Fair – a giant version of this classic game with a PCCY spin!
  • Coded By Kids will be running Coding Workshops at 11am, 2pm and 3:30pm
  • Education Works will be running a STEM Activity for gamers and nongamers.
  • ESF Summer Camps will be giving out information on Minecraft specific summer camps.
  • ESteem Girls will be doing a math marble maze activity
  • Facepainting by Annette – specializing in Minecraft designs (there’s a fee).
  • Fairmount WaterWorks Interpretive Center will be bringing their mobile mussel hatchery.
  • Franklin Institute will be running a STEM Activity for gamers and nongamers.
  • Free Library of Philadelphia will be building small robots with kids
  • Garden State Discovery Museum will be making monochromatic butterfly’s with kids
  • Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania will be running a STEM Activity for gamers and nongamers.
  • Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion will be running a STEM Activity for gamers and nongamers.
  • Minecraft Arts and Crafts Activities with more than 10 different activities all at one station.
  • Minecraft Karaoke will have kids singing their hearts out to Minecraft tunes.
  • Minecraft Merchandise Store will feature many of your kids favorite items (there’s a fee)
  • MoveMakers Philly will do a performance at 4pm on the physics of break dancing.
  • PECO Energy will bring their electric house display demonstrating the difference between lighting and energy efficient lighting.
  • Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General will conduct a workshop for parents: Social Media 101 – What Parents and Educators Need to Know – at 1pm
  • Philadelphia Fire Department will send a fire truck for kids to explore between Noon and 2pm.
  • Philadelphia Office of Sustainability will help you prepare for hotter and wetter weather in Philadelphia.
  • Philadelphia Zoo will work with kids on building a home for one of four different animals.
  • Public Citizens for Children and Youth will have a table telling you about all of our programs including signing kids up for health care coverage
  • Raising of America will be previewing their documentary every hour on the hour starting at 11am
  • Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education will bring a variety of found objects and demonstrate their use.
  • Screenwave Media will be previewing new video games
  • Snapology will be running a STEM Activity for gamers and nongamers and selling some products (there’s a fee)
  • Team Children will be informing parents about their low cost – or even free – computer options
  • TechGirlz will be running a STEM Activity for gamers and nongamers in the STEM Fair but will also be doing coding workshops for girls at 12:30pm and 4pm – email stemcraft@childrenfirstpa.org to get on the waiting list.
