A Sweet Victory for Working Families

With a resounding knock of the gavel, a Common Pleas Court judge ruled the City’s beverage tax to be lawful, dismissing the soda industry’s lawsuit against the city, “in its entirety,” reported the Inquirer.

A sweet victory for working families, child advocates and the key leaders and organizations in Philadelphia, the beverage tax will fund the significant expansion of quality pre-k as well as the rebuilding of crumbling recreation centers, playgrounds and libraries.
