PCCY currently has the following (2) position open:

 

 

Communications Director

Media Relations

bullet Maintain strong relationships with local, regional and state press corps.
bullet Work with policy staff to conduct rapid response to breaking policy issues, including writing op-eds, letters to the editor, organizing press conferences, etc. 
bullet Implement communication strategy to expand the reach of PCCY throughout the region, increase its exposure and improve its strategic effectiveness.
bullet Develop collaborative education and media outreach efforts.
bullet Insure PCCY is key to influencing public policy debates related to children in the region.
bullet Assist policy staff in framing issues and in developing skills related to framing issues.
bullet Work with Communications Committee to develop and support communications strategy.

 

Materials Development and Support

bullet Produce and edit 4-6 newsletters a year.
bullet Write annual reports as needed.
bullet Edit all PCCY reports before publication.
bullet Take lead role with Information and Technology Associate on expanding PCCY’s web presence, including e-alerts, fundraising, web communications.  Edit web page materials and ensure website is kept up to date.
bullet Develop consistent PCCY style and mentor staff in writing for publication.
bullet Help develop consistent look for PCCY materials including report templates, web site and outreach materials.
bullet Document PCCY’s accomplishments and successes.

Attend PCCY coalition meetings, staff meetings and events to maintain contact with PCCY work

Work with Education Coordinator and Executive Director to produce and script televised Education Roundtable.

Requirements

bullet Non-profit advocacy experience.
bullet Accustomed to working as part of team.
bullet Excellent written and oral communications skills.
bullet Five to seven years’ experience and proven track record in nonprofit communications, including building strategic communication plans, rapid response to issues and influencing public policy.
bullet Issue-based or electoral campaign experience.
bullet Familiarity with issues related to low-income children and families preferred.

Development Director

The successful candidate will have experience in:

Implementing and overseeing major gifts campaign

bullet

Grant and annual solicitation writing

bullet

Increasing and diversifying donor bases

Requirements:

bullet

Desire to help make the world better for children and families

bullet

Bachelor's degree

bullet

Minimum of three to five years fundraising experience

bullet

Track record of success in the areas of major gifts and grant writing

bullet

Non-profit advocacy experience a plus

bullet

Excellent written and verbal communications skills

bullet

Knowledge of Access and Excel databases
