Using Minecraft to Imagine a Better World and Build It Together.

PCCY, the region’s most influential advocacy organization for children, leverages the world’s greatest video game for the year’s most engaging fundraising event for kids. The Block By Block Party is a Minecraft gaming event and family science festival rolled into one! Join us on Saturday, September 16, 2017 or Sunday, September 17, 2017 at the University of the Sciences, 43rd & Woodland Avenue for a fun, creative and unique gaming opportunity.

If you’re unfamiliar with Minecraft, all you need to know is that it’s a game that encourages creative thinking, exploration and collaborative play and has been embraced by educators all over the world as a new tool to engage with their students. How you play Minecraft is entirely up to who is playing, whether you want to build structures or sculptures using cube building blocks or explore the ‘open’ world and embark on adventures alone or with friends.  Our event will feature over 1,500 gamers with competitive and non-competitive sessions and prizes for participants. The money raised will further PCCY’s mission to improve the life chances of children by advocating for adequate funding of public schools, affordable and better access to pre-k for working families, and making sure every child has health care coverage. But we need your help to make this inaugural event a success.
